Students from the Computer Science and Commerce departments participated in a mentorship program on November 18, 2024, organized by Teach2Give and hosted by the ICT Department. The event aimed to prepare students for the dynamic global job market by exploring emerging employment trends and the intricacies of American business models. The mentorship program featured two keynote speakers: Ms. Tracey Scheffler, Founder and CEO of New Frontier BPO, USA, and Mr. Jay Duff, Director of Analytics Engineering at Chick-fil-A and Director at Teach2Give.
Ms. Scheffler captivated the audience with her story of building a thriving business in the outsourcing sector, emphasizing the importance of adaptability and technological proficiency in today’s workforce. Mr. Duff provided a comprehensive overview of American business models, focusing on the critical role of analytics in decision-making. He highlighted opportunities in data-driven careers and encouraged students to pursue roles in organizations that prioritize customer-focused strategies. The program concluded with interactive sessions, offering students a platform to network and seek personalized guidance on aligning their academic goals with global industry demands.
