Performance Contracting

Welcome to the Directorate of Performance Contracting .The Vision of the University is to be a Premier University for the provision of quality education training and research for sustainable national and global development. An earlier Directorate of Quality Assurance and Performance Contracting was created in 2010 .The Directorate was split into two in September 2019. The Directorate of Performance Contracting oversees the Coordination, Implementation, Monitoring, and reporting of the University Performance Contract in line with the University’s Charter, Statutes, Strategic plan, and guidelines released annually by the Performance Contract division Secretariat.

The Directorate is headed by a Director who reports directly to the Vice Chancellor through the Deputy Vice chancellor (AFP&D).

  1. To Facilitate Pre-Negotiation, Negotiation and Vetting of Performance Targets using the guidelines released annually by the Performance Contract Division Secretariat.
  2. To facilitate cascading and signing of staff performance contracts and sensitize University staff on Performance Contracting
  3. Overseeing the preparation and implementation of departmental work plans by Heads of Departments.
  4. Coordinating tracking and monitoring the implementation of the targets set in the yearly Performance Contract between the Government and Chuka University Council.
  5. Coordinating evaluation of departments on the achievements of the targets set in the Performance Contract and preparation of quarterly reports to relevant various Governmental Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) by the stipulated deadlines.
  6. To maintain a working contact with other University organs/officers on Performance Contracting
  7. To facilitate compliance with the set administrative and management systems in accordance with set performance targets and ISO certification standards.
  8. To monitor the implementation of the Strategic Plan via yearly Performance Contracts.
  9. Prepare and Coordinate the University management for Annual Performance Contracting Evaluation Exercise.
  10. To carry out any other duties assigned by management.
