Shaping the Future of an Engineer

The Faculty of Engineering hosted a mentorship talk and officially launched the Chuka University Engineering Students Association (CUESA) under the theme “The Future of an Engineer.” The event featured inspiring guest speakers such as Catherine Mirobe, IoT and Software Engineer at Safaricom and Gast Kengere, Industrial and Instrumentation Automation Specialist at the International Society of Automation (ISA). They emphasized the importance of building essential skills, acquiring cutting-edge knowledge, and fostering innovation.
The ceremony was officially opened by the Chair of the Department (COD), Dr. Machoka Bundi and the Dean, Prof. Marcel Ohanga, who motivated students to work diligently, uphold discipline, and stay committed to their academic and professional development. The event was also graced by engineering students from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DEKUT). The ceremony culminated with the unveiling of the Faculty logo and a celebratory cake-cutting, marking the launch of CUESA.
This initiative seeks to provide students with valuable networking opportunities, industry connections, and real-world exposure, while strengthening ties with professional organizations such as the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and other prominent engineering societies.
