On Friday, April 4, 2025, Chuka University’s School of Law hosted the second edition of its annual Gala Night which is a prestigious dinner event aimed at reminiscing on the School’s accomplishments. The event brought together legal minds from across Kenya, fostering a sense of community while offering networking opportunities, mentorship from seasoned professionals, and a memorable experience for attendees.
The gala was organized by law students under the leadership of the School of Law President, Mr. Yegon Meshack Kipkirui, in collaboration with the Faculty, led by the Dean, Dr. Wycliffe Otiso, and the Chairman of the Department of Law, Mr. Allan Oduor.
The event was highly successful and well attended by members of the Bench (judicial officers), the Bar (practicing advocates), faculty (lecturers), alumni, students, and captains of industry. The Judiciary was ably represented by Hon. Joyce Gandani and Hon. Tracy Wachira.
Members of the Bar attended in large numbers, including Advocates Antony Kinyua Mwenda (AK Mwenda), Faith Jappani, Sam Gitau, Emmanuel Ole Ntome, Moses Mutungi, Richard Mwaniki, Samuel Gitau, Erick Muriuki, Boniface Mawira, and Ruth Ambogo, among others. The chief guest was Dr. Muthomi Thiankolu. CUSOL alumni were represented by QS James Mugambi, Mr. Geoffrey Chabari, and Mr. Gitonga Mutani.
In his keynote speech titled “From Chuka to the World,” Dr. Muthomi Thiankolu praised the impressive growth of Chuka University School of Law. He led the gathering in celebrating the school’s achievements in National and Regional competitions, its dynamic engagement with industry stakeholders, and partnerships with key legal institutions that continue to shape the future of its students. He concluded by urging students to embody the mantra: “World, here comes Chuka School of Law.”
The Faculty also took the opportunity to recognize and appreciate various student leaders for their dedication and service in leadership roles across clubs and organizations within the School.
