Chuka University Secures Grant with Local and Global Partners to Advance Bioeconomy Education and Policy

A consortium of Kenyan & global institutions including Pwani University(Coordinating Institution),Chuka University (Dr. Joseph Masinde), NACOSTI, CUE, Egerton University, Danmarks Tekniske Universitet , Universitaet Hohenheim & Africa Bioenergy Programs Ltd has secured an EU Commission grant of €899,994.77 (KSh 134.9M) for the Bio-KE Project.

Coordinated by Pwani University, the project will boost training, research & innovation in Kenya’s bioeconomy, aligning with the Government’s Green Transition goals — sustainable energy, biodiversity, climate resilience & agri-food systems.

Plans include a Competency-Based Bioeconomy Education Framework & VR Bioeconomy Museums of the Future to link students, industry & policy for sustainable growth.
