University Staff Trained on Irrigation and Water Management in Embu

In a bid to sharpen their expertise in sustainable farming, two representatives from the University’s Farm Department took part in a three-day training on irrigation and water management at Don Bosco Farm in Embu, from September 17 to 19, 2025.

The program, organized by the Kenya Institute of Water and Irrigation in collaboration with CultivAid, aimed at equipping participants with skills to manage scarce water resources. The training emphasized the use of irrigation technologies in arid and semi-arid areas as a strategy to curb food insecurity.

Attendees engaged in both practical and theoretical sessions that explored modern irrigation systems, water conservation techniques, and sustainable farming practices. The initiative also sought to encourage the adoption of innovative solutions that could transform agriculture in water-stressed regions.
