Driving Excellence Through Collaborative Partnerships

Chuka University has strengthened its partnership with Akili Group through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to address Kenya’s technical skills gap in the carbon market. The collaboration will enable Akili Group, to provide specialized training and expand opportunities in this emerging and fast-growing sector

The partnership includes joint research on climate change, short-course training on carbon projects, and community development initiatives. Students will also benefit from industrial attachments and skill exchanges in nature-based solutions.

Following the MoU signing, the Faculty of Environmental Studies hosted a public lecture by Mr. Haron Wachira, CEO of Akili Holdings Ltd., on green technologies and sustainable practices. The forum emphasized the importance of building technical expertise in carbon markets, promoting sustainable development practices, and equipping students and stakeholders with the knowledge and skills required to participate in the rapidly expanding green economy.
