ANAW Mentors Animal Sciences Students on Welfare Standards

Students from the Animal Sciences Department were mentored by professionals from Africa Network for Animal Welfare (ANAW) in a session focused on advancing animal health and welfare practices. The mentorship, brought together industry experts and students to discuss key animal welfare principles, including the internationally recognized Animal Welfare Freedoms. The professionals also sensitized learners on proper poultry housing systems, with particular emphasis on improving the welfare of caged chicken. The event was organized as part of ongoing efforts to bridge academic learning with industry practice.
