The delegation was led by Prof. Thomas Rewe, the Project Coordinator of Bio-KE, Pwani University and included distinguished partners from Germany, Prof. Iris Lewandowski and Dr. Bastian Winkler, both from the University of Hohenheim. The courtesy call served not only as a formal introduction but also as a strong reaffirmation of the shared commitment to the core objectives of the Bio-KE project.
The discussions emphasized strengthening institutional capacity in bioeconomy education and policy, supporting the development of competency-based curricula that equip graduates with practical and future-ready skills, establishing bioeconomy living labs that foster collaboration between universities, entrepreneurs, and communities, and enhancing research–industry linkages to stimulate innovation and create sustainable green job opportunities.
Tomorrow’s engagement is expected to explore practical pathways for implementation, including collaborative research, student exchange opportunities, innovation incubation, and joint resource mobilization.
