Chuka University commemorated International Women’s Day on 7 March with an event held under the theme “Emotionally Strong, Unstoppable, Bold,” aimed at empowering and inspiring female students. Organized by the Chuka University Students Association, the celebration provided a platform for learning, personal development, and community engagement.
The program commenced with a vibrant curtain-raiser performance by student models, officially launching the day’s activities. Keynote speakers addressed topics central to the growth of young women, including self-worth and identity, being a woman of character and value, and emotional intelligence and maturity, providing guidance on personal development, healthy relationships, and informed decision-making.
As part of the outreach initiative, sanitary towels were distributed to attendees, and a cake-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the occasion. Ms. Miriam Njagi, Office of the Dean of Students, addressed the participants offering words of encouragement and guidance to the young women. The event concluded with a token of appreciation, as facilitators were presented with gifts in recognition of their valuable contributions to the program’s success.
The celebration underscored the institution’s commitment to empowering women and fostering a platform for education, inspiration, and community support.
