University Teams Shine at Women National Games

Victory in tennis highlighted an impressive outing for the University at the Women National Games held from March 6 to March 8, 2025. The tennis team clinched the championship after defeating Mount Kenya University in the finals. The team displayed remarkable determination and consistency throughout the tournament, culminating in a decisive win that secured the top position and the championship title.

In volleyball, Chuka University finished second after a closely contested final against the University of Nairobi. The team had earlier booked its place in the finals by defeating Kenyatta University during the semi-finals. The university’s soccer team secured third place after a strong campaign in the competition. The team advanced to the semi-finals but lost to the University of Eldoret, having earlier defeated KCA University in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, the basketball team advanced to the semi-finals, demonstrating competitive spirit throughout the tournament, while the badminton team reached the quarter-finals, marking a respectable performance at the national-level competition. The Women National Games brought together universities from across the country, offering a platform for female student-athletes to showcase their talent while strengthening inter-university sports competition.
