Chuka University was represented at the Green Hydrogen Symposium 2026 held on 20th–21st May 2026 at Emara Ole Sereni Hotel by Prof. Paul Kuria Kamweru, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology.
The symposium, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum under the theme “Kenya’s Hydrogen Potential on the World Stage,” convened stakeholders from government, academia, industry, development partners, research institutions, and the private sector. The event was officially opened by Hon. Opiyo Wandayi alongside senior government officials and international partners.
Prof. Kamweru addressed participants during the recognition ceremony for graduands of the Master Training of Trainers Programme on Green Hydrogen and the Power-to-X (PtX) Value Chain, organized through GIZ, the PtX Hub, and the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum. In his remarks, he highlighted the participants’ industrial and academic engagements in Kenya and Germany, which provided valuable exposure to emerging green hydrogen technologies, renewable energy research, and sustainable industrial processes.
He further affirmed that Chuka University remains committed to integrating Green Hydrogen and Power-to-X concepts into teaching, research, and innovation in support of Kenya’s transition to sustainable clean energy. He also underscored the importance of enhanced collaboration among industry, academia, government, and development partners in accelerating the growth of the green hydrogen economy.
