Chuka University has secured a Research and Development grant through collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) to pilot and upscale a functional farmer–University extension model.
The project will facilitate the transfer of research outputs to farmers, promoting the adoption of practical innovations to enhance agricultural productivity and profitability. It will also strengthen collaboration between researchers and farming communities through the testing, refinement and scaling of research-based solutions responsive to farmers’ needs.
The grant underscores the University’s commitment to advancing research, extension and innovation in delivering practical solutions that improve livelihoods and contribute to sustainable development.
