Chuka University’s Mary Odhiambo Clinches Global IQC Resilience Award in Singapore

Chuka University has once again put Kenya on the global map after Mary Odhiambo, a student from the Faculty of Science and Technology, clinched the prestigious Resilience Award at the 2026 International Quant Championship (IQC) Global Finals held in Singapore. Mary’s achievement marks Chuka University’s second consecutive appearance at the IQC Global Finals, following our representation in 2025, making it the only university represented at the global finals in both years.

Competing in a field that attracted 156,029 registrations from 167 countries and more than 13,000 universities worldwide, Mary stood out for her resilience and perseverance in the pursuit of excellence, earning one of the special awards presented at the global event, which also saw the IQC receive Guinness World Records recognition for the largest financial competition. Her achievement goes beyond an individual accolade, spotlighting Chuka University’s growing capacity to identify, nurture and propel Kenyan talent into global opportunities in quantitative finance, data science and computational research.
Congratulations, Mary, for flying our flag high.
