Advancing Research and Supervision

The Office of the Director (Research, Extension and Publications) held its 10th Workshop on Lecturer’s Proposal Writing, Intellectual Property Rights, and Postgraduate Student Supervision. The training attracted Dons from various departments providing them with valuable insights into key academic and research areas. Participants were taken through various topics, including Abstract and Statement of the Problem and Justification, Methodology, Literature Search, Postgraduate Supervision, Intellectual Property Rights, Library Information, Log Frame, and RSTI Mainstreaming.
The workshop was officially opened by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (ARSA), Prof. Gilbert Nduru, who emphasized the importance of training students well and ensuring they receive the best academic experience. The training focused on equipping lecturers with essential skills in proposal writing for grants and funds as well as enhancing postgraduate student supervision to ensure timely completion of their thesis while maintaining high research standards.
