Celebrating World Sight Day

To celebrate World Sight Day, the Chuka County Referral Hospital in collaboration with Chuka University on October 12, 2023, organized a free eye screening initiative. The exercise targeted staff and students at the University’s Professor Ezra Maritim Green Park. This annual event, observed in the month of October, witnessed a substantial turnout of both staff and students seeking eye screening and other health assessments. The theme for this year was centered around “Love Your Eyes at Work”, with the primary objective of raising awareness on eye care. This exercise aimed to advocate for employers to prioritize the eye health of their employees. The exercise encompassed tests for far vision, near vision, and eye pressure. In addition to the eye screenings, the participants underwent blood pressure and diabetes screenings to promote overall health and well-being.
