During his briefing, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education for their generous support of the conference. He articulated a clear vision for the institution, emphasizing its internationalization as a primary goal. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of fostering collaboration with other institutions.
The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted a significant shift in the University Research Fund’s approach, advocating for a more proactive involvement of DONS. He urged that the responsibility for securing research funding should be placed squarely on the shoulders of the academic staff themselves, particularly the professors. Their ability to attract donors and engage in rigorous research and publication activities is pivotal to the institution’s advancement.
