Chuka University and KPLC Strengthen Ties

A delegation from the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) paid a courtesy call to the University Management on March 7, 2024. Led by Eng. Eric Momanyi, the County Business Manager KPLC Chuka branch, the team expressed appreciation for the cordial relationship between the two institutions. The objective of the visit was to gauge the level of customer satisfaction by Chuka University as a power consumer. Engaging in candid discussions, both parties deliberated on challenges encountered based on customer feedback, to enhance KPLC’s operations. Furthermore, KPLC encouraged Chuka University to explore alternative energy sources, such as the clean cooking concept, to promote energy-saving practices and create a strategy to mitigate climate change. Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Ag. DVC ARSA Prof. Gilbert Nduru, highlighted the potential for partnership opportunities between KPLC and Chuka University during significant events such as graduations, conferences, or student scholarships, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in fostering sustainable energy practices and academic advancement.
