Chuka University hosted a high-level sensitization forum on the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) project, aimed at empowering youth in Tharaka Nithi County through increased employment, income generation, and savings.
The event was graced by the Principal Secretary for the State Department for Blue Economy and Fisheries, Ms. Betsy Muthoni Njagi, CBS, who was received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jonah Kindiki, and the university management, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor. The Principal Secretary was accompanied by a delegation from Tharaka Nithi County, led by the Deputy Governor, H.E. Hon. Muisrael Nyaga, among other dignitaries.
By targeting vulnerable populations and building their economic capacity, the NYOTA project is expected to significantly uplift the youth of Tharaka Nithi County, enabling them to contribute more effectively to national development and economic growth.
