Chuka University was ably represented at a national training workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) aligned with the Washington Accord by Dr. Machoka Bundi, Chairperson of the Department (COD) of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The workshop was held from 4–6 March 2026 at Strathmore University.
The event brought together engineering educators, accreditation experts, and regulators from universities across the country to discuss curriculum alignment, assessment strategies, and continuous quality improvement for international accreditation.
Organized in collaboration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), which attained provisional signatory status to the Washington Accord, the training aims to support universities in strengthening their programs through the OBE model, emphasizing the competencies and professional skills that graduates must demonstrate.
Chuka University’s participation reflects its commitment to enhancing the quality and global competitiveness of its engineering programs through alignment with internationally recognized education and accreditation standards.
