The annual meeting featured scientific presentations, training sessions, and group discussions on the role of modeling, analytics, and artificial intelligence in tackling real-world health challenges. One highlight of the program was a knowledge-sharing session with National Malaria Programs (NMPS), focusing on how different types of models are applied to inform strategic decisions in disease control.
Chuka University’s Centre for Data Analytics and Modelling (CeDAM) was well represented by Prof. D.K. Muriithi and Prof. Mark Okongo, who facilitated key capacity-building sessions. Prof. Muriithi led a highly anticipated workshop on data visualisation in R with no coding, equipping participants with practical tools for communicating data insights effectively.
The 2025 meeting reaffirmed the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based planning in health and development, positioning African institutions—like CeDAM at Chuka University—as essential players in shaping the continent’s data future.
