Chuka University has been selected to host beneficiaries of Phase II of the East African Community (EAC) Scholarship Programme (EACSP), administered by the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), following a successful application by the Faculty of Science and Technology.
Under the scholarship programme, beneficiaries will pursue four Master’s degree programmes offered by the institution, namely, Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, Master of Science in Biochemistry, Master of Science in Botany (Microbiology and Biotechnology), and Master of Science in Botany (Plant Pathology).
The application was spearheaded by the Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, Prof. Paul Kamweru, in collaboration with the Director, Board of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Moses Mahugu Muraya, and a multidisciplinary team of academic staff.
Implemented under the theme “Leadership to Foster Regional Integration,” the EAC Scholarship Programme seeks to strengthen regional integration through postgraduate education, academic mobility and collaboration among EAC Partner States. This opportunity advances the University’s internationalisation agenda and strengthens its role as a regional hub for postgraduate education, while promoting academic mobility, research collaboration and knowledge exchange across the region.
The institution will work closely with IUCEA and programme partners to facilitate the scholarship’s implementation and looks forward to welcoming scholars from across the East African Community.
