Empowering Future Tech Innovators

The Department of Computer Science, led by the COD, Prof. David Mwathi, held an Android Development Boot Camp/Hackathon. It was officially opened by the DVC (ARSA), Prof. Gilbert Nduru, who emphasized the importance of this initiative. He explained that the boot camp will provide students with practical technical skills, preparing them for the demands of the tech industry. He also highlighted that such initiatives help students gain hands-on experience, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
The boot camp will run for three days, during which students will learn about Android development and the development environment, XML and UI components, building a simple UI, Java for Android, user interaction and toast messages, RecyclerView and ListView basics, and an introduction to Firebase.
