Empowering Professionalism Through Protocol Management

Protocol is the cornerstone of order, respect, and professionalism within any institution. It defines how official events are conducted, how communication is handled, and how individuals present themselves in both formal and informal settings. Recognizing the vital role of protocol in enhancing institutional image and efficiency, Chuka University hosted a training on Protocol Management, convened by Dr. Ann Michura and her team.
The event was officially opened and graced by the DVC (AFP&D) Prof. Jonah Kindiki, who underscored the importance of time management, effective communication, and adherence to protocol. Participants received in-depth guidance from Ms. Joy Nkatha on key aspects of protocol, including appropriate dressing, the use of lifts, communication etiquette, dining etiquette, and the proper handling of national symbols, emblems, and the national anthem. The sessions also covered crucial elements of event management.
In addition, Mr. Mwangi Murima led an engaging session on hosting VIPs, official etiquette, and best practices in protocol management. The training concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Chief Public Relations Officer and HoD PR and Marketing, Dr. Immaculate Namulia, who outlined the way forward for the institution. She commended the participants for their active engagement and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained to enhance professionalism, promote courtesy, and uphold the university’s values in their respective roles.
