FHSS Hosts Student Academic Advisory and Mentorship Forum

Students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) gathered for a Student Academic Advisory and Mentorship Forum aimed at strengthening academic performance, student welfare, and timely completion of studies. The forum, organized by the Office of the Dean, brought together university management, faculty leaders, academic advisors, and students to engage in dialogue on key academic processes and challenges affecting learners.

Participants were taken through critical areas including examination regulations, academic policies, graduation processes, attachment requirements, and course completion status. Special attention was given to issues such as missing marks, incomplete courses, deferment, sickness, bereavement, and students’ mental health, highlighting the University’s support structures. A question-and-answer session allowed students to directly engage faculty representatives and administrators on matters affecting their academic journey. The initiative sought to promote shared responsibility and collaboration between students and lecturers in achieving the faculty’s academic mission.
