The Faculty of Agriculture had the honour of hosting a delegation from Afri-China/Sajorec CAS. The distinguished guests were warmly received by the University Management, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei. The delegation included Mr. Zheng Miaoguo, President of Afri-China International Company (K) Ltd; Ms. Zhang Lina and Ms. Miriam Wanjiku, both of Afri-China International Company (K) Ltd; Mr. YU Haifeng, Program Coordinator of Sajorec CAS; and Mr. ZHOU Youqiang, a Grape Expert from Sajorec CAS.
The aim of the visit was to explore opportunities for strategic collaboration in areas such as agriculture, environmental conservation, research, and sustainability. The proposed partnership aims to contribute to poverty reduction through focused initiatives in research, training, technology dissemination, and innovation in sustainable modern agriculture. It will also support environmental resource conservation, technology transfer, and the establishment of a botanical garden.
This initiative is expected to significantly benefit students by providing exposure to advanced agricultural technologies and promoting community empowerment toward achieving food security.As part of their visit, the delegation toured Chuka University’s Kairini Farm, the designated site for the implementation of the proposed projects.
