Fostering Student Exchange

Mr. Zagyva Zalán Rókus paid a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei. Mr. Zagyva studies forestry at the University of Sopron in Hungary and is currently a student researcher studying ants and collembolans (springtails) under the supervision of his advisor, Prof. Daniel Winkler, in Hungary.
He is currently at Chuka University conducting research in Kenya through an affiliation with the institution, under the supervision of Dr. Jafford Njeru Rithaa and Dr. Bernard Cheruiyot Soi from the Faculty of Environmental Studies and Resources Development. Zagyva is a beneficiary of the Mobility Scholarship through the Pannonia Mobility Programme in Hungary. He is currently conducting research across six different habitat types in the eastern part of Mount Kenya Forest which include: mixed cropland, tea crop plantation, Vitex keniensis plantation, eucalyptus plantation, disturbed natural forest, and undisturbed natural forest.
