From Chuka to Kampala: Bridging Borders in Education

On April 9th, 2025, a delegation from Chuka University comprising 63 students from the Faculty of Education and Resources Development (FERD) and two faculty members from the Department of Education (DEDU) visited Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. The visit was part of an academic exchange and benchmarking initiative aimed at fostering regional academic collaboration and initiating discussions on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.
Representing DEDU were Dr. Peter Kimanthi and Mr. Robinson Kenyatta, who accompanied the students throughout the visit. The team engaged with academic staff from Makerere University to explore potential areas of cooperation, including joint research, curriculum development, and faculty and student exchange programs.
The initiative was also geared toward enhancing institutional visibility and promoting cross-border collaboration in higher education. Through meaningful dialogue and shared learning, the visit strengthened academic ties between Chuka University and Makerere University, setting the stage for future partnerships and expanded opportunities for both students and faculty.
