Inspiring a Generation for National Transformation

The Department of Humanities held a public lecture on The Role of the Youth in Nation Building in Kenya, bringing together students and lecturers for an engaging and insightful discussion. The event highlighted the institution’s dedication to fostering initiatives that motivate students to actively contribute to the betterment of society.
The keynote address was delivered by Rev. Canon Chris Kinyanjui, General Secretary of the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), who underscored the critical role of young people in shaping the nation’s future. He challenged youth to address pressing issues such as unemployment and to lead in finding innovative solutions for the country’s challenges.
Rev. Canon Kinyanjui emphasized active citizenship, ethical leadership, and meaningful youth participation in social, economic, and political development. He encouraged young people to engage in civic initiatives, uphold ethical standards, apply their academic knowledge for positive change, and embrace stories and experiences that inspire communities and drive national progress.
