Leading the Charge Against Corruption with an Impactful Seminar

The Chuka University Corruption Prevention/Integrity Committee hosted a Prevention Sensitization Seminar to raise awareness among its members. The facilitators, Mr. Geoffrey Chepkwony and Dr. Augusta Mecca from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), led participants through a comprehensive discussion on critical topics, including the concept of corruption and unethical practices, the role of the Corruption Prevention Committee/Integrity Assurance Officer (CPC/IAO), and the obligations under the Leadership and Integrity Act (LIA), the Bribery Act, 2016, and the Conflict-of-Interest Act, 2025. Additionally, the session provided an in-depth overview of the PC Cycle 22nd Guidelines.
The discussions focused on aligning university practices with anti-corruption standards and strengthening institutional integrity. The seminar concluded with a shared commitment to implementing the agreed measures and promoting a culture of transparency and accountability at the institution.
