New students, including those enrolled in the ODEL program, participated in separate but concurrent orientation sessions. The day for ODEL students commenced with opening remarks by the Chairperson of Department (COD), ODEL, Dr. Jonathan Kathenge, who warmly welcomed the students and underscored the importance of self-discipline, effective time management, and proactive engagement in their studies. He further encouraged students to make full use of the available digital resources and support systems to enhance their learning experience.
This was followed by comprehensive training on the student portal, web conferencing platforms, and the Learning Management System (LMS). Additionally, students were introduced to the Digital Library and participated in an open forum.
Simultaneously, the Library orientation sessions were conducted for students from the Faculty of Education and Resource Development, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the School of Nursing and Public Health. These sessions aimed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge to support their academic success.
The Library orientation will conclude tomorrow with sessions for students from the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Environmental Studies and Development.
