Mentors in the House: Business Students Get a Head Start

Students swapped theory for real-world insights as the Faculty of Business Studies hosted a mentorship programme under the theme “Navigating Business Success: Trends, Success and Opportunities.” The session featured industry experts from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).

The programme brought together students and professionals to explore career pathways, emerging trends, and the value of professional certification in accounting and supply chain management. Facilitators emphasized the importance of integrity, adaptability, and continuous learning in a competitive job market, urging students to complement academic training with professional qualifications.

In attendance from the university were Ms. Jane Mumbi and Mr. Lucas Waweru, who highlighted the institution’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry. The interactive session allowed students to engage with mentors, gaining practical insights to help them navigate the evolving business landscape.
