Chuka University is set to partner with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) in promoting peacebuilding, social cohesion, and sustainable development following a high-level engagement between the two institutions. In a courtesy visit led by Dr. Daniel Giti, the NCIC delegation met with Chuka University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei, to explore areas of collaboration and initiate the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The proposed MoU will guide joint initiatives in peacebuilding, environmental conservation, and academic research. Key areas identified for partnership include the establishment of an institute dedicated to peacebuilding and environmental sustainability, collaborative research projects, joint conferences, capacity-building initiatives, mental health awareness programs, and student internship and attachment opportunities. The two institutions also discussed co-authoring academic publications and implementing community-based projects that support social integration and national unity. This engagement marks the beginning of a strategic alliance aimed at contributing to national development, academic enrichment, and the promotion of harmonious coexistence across communities.
