KEY RESEARCH PROJECTS
1. 2012 developed a competitive Ph.D research proposal on ‘Growth and quality of rose flower (Rosa hybridaspp.) cultivars as influenced by light transmission through selected poly film covers and different levels of calcium foliar feed’ that won funding from National Commission of Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) funded as the Principal Investigator.
2. In collaboration with 5 others from Egerton University, Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Services and Ministry of Agriculture awarded Women Scientist to carry out a study on ‘Enhancing food safety in the Kenyan domestic market through reduced pesticide residues on vegetables – a value chain approach
3. OIP Global Experience Award of $4,000 as a collaborator. Developing an undergraduate level case study on cassava viral diseases. Collaborators from 5 institutions: Iowa State University (USA), University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, Chuka University, Egerton University.
