Chuka University staff and students joined teachers and learners at Makanyanga Primary and Junior High School for a tree planting exercise, in line with the Government’s directive under President William Ruto to plant 15 billion trees by 2032. The initiative aims to increase Kenya’s tree cover to 30%, restore ecosystems, mitigate climate change, and promote environmental stewardship, with citizens encouraged to plant at least 30 trees annually.
