Professor Gemechu Wirtu of Tuskegee University visited Chuka University today to monitor and evaluate the progress of the USDA Scientific Research Cooperation Project (SCRP) on beekeeping.
The visit follows his initial tour in December 2023, during which he launched the SCRP initiative and strengthened mentorship ties with Dr. Onesmus Munene Nderi from the Faculty of Agriculture. This time, Prof. Wirtu was accompanied by a student from Tuskegee University, who will contribute to ongoing research activities under the project.
He praised the university for its effective implementation of the beekeeping project and reaffirmed his commitment to deepening collaboration, particularly in areas such as assisted reproductive technologies. He also emphasized the importance of expanding interdisciplinary partnerships across various fields.
