Renewed Mandate, Renewed Mission

The newly reappointed members of the Chuka University Council were officially sworn in for their second term. During the ceremony, they pledged to provide strategic leadership and support as the University strengthens its financial sustainability through internally generated revenue.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Council Chairperson Prof. David Serem thanked the Government for the confidence and opportunity to continue serving the University. He also expressed his appreciation to fellow Council members for their dedication and commitment during their first term, urging them to maintain the same spirit of service in their renewed mandate.

Prof. Serem reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting Chuka University, noting that the university is entering a new phase where it will increasingly depend on its own internally generated revenue. He emphasized that the Council will continue providing strategic oversight to enhance the University’s growth, sustainability, and competitiveness.

He called on Council members to work closely with the University Management and other stakeholders to advance the institution’s mission and ensure Chuka University continues to deliver quality teaching, research, innovation, and community service.
