On Day Nine of the training, participants attended a specialized field trip to the Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) in Lower Kabete. During the visit, they received practical demonstrations on bull semen collection using artificial vagina (AV), microscopic analysis, cryopreservation, and artificial insemination (AI) procedures.
Additionally, participants gained insights into semen distribution models, agency networks, their strengths, and challenges. The field trip also included a demonstration of Bull Breeding Soundness Examination (BBSE), where they learned how to assess bull fertility through physical examination, testicular measurements, semen evaluation, and libido scoring.
