During the session, students presented their findings and insights gained while working closely with farmers on key agricultural themes: Agro-Entrepreneurship, Irrigation, Dairy Goat Farming, and Macadamia Farming. Their presentations highlighted practical solutions and innovative approaches to enhance productivity and sustainability in these sectors. Farmers in attendance shared their experiences and provided valuable feedback on the impact of the program.
The SLUSE program continues to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic research and on-the-ground agricultural challenges. The hands-on learning experience not only equips students with practical skills but also fosters meaningful partnerships between educational institutions and local communities. As this year’s program wraps up, organizers and stakeholders are optimistic about building on these achievements for future editions of SLUSE, ensuring continued support for sustainable land use management in Kenya.
