Chuka University has reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and future-readiness through a high-level strategic retreat focused on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in university operations. The retreat brought together the University Council, chaired by Prof. David K. Serem, and the University Management Board, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei, in Naivasha.
In response to shifting global and national funding models in higher education, the retreat served as a platform to equip university leadership with practical strategies for leveraging AI to improve academic planning, streamline administrative functions, and enhance service delivery.
The primary objective of the retreat was to develop a forward-looking strategic roadmap for AI integration. Discussions also focused on strengthening institutional governance, enhancing leadership and succession planning, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the University.
This initiative is part of Chuka University’s broader strategic transformation agenda aimed at embracing cutting-edge technologies, delivering quality education, and preparing students and staff for success in an increasingly data-driven, AI-enabled world.
