The Directorate of Open Distance and E-learning (ODEL), in collaboration with the Library and the Faculty of Science, conducted a comprehensive training session for lecturers. The first day of the training involved participants from three faculties: The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Law, and the Faculty of Agriculture.
The training aimed to equip lecturers with the essential skills to effectively utilize the Learning Management System (LMS). This included guidance on accessing modules, uploading course materials such as notes, assignments, and Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), as well as using KENNET web conferencing to conduct online classes.
The session also focused on integrating audio-visual tools to enhance online teaching and provided guidance on accessing e-learning resources within the LMS and the Digital Library. Additionally, emerging issues related to Artificial Intelligence in digital learning were addressed.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei, officially opened the training. In his address, he encouraged the lecturers to fully embrace the ODEL system, commended their commitment to the training, and also urged them to remain vigilant in their teaching to ensure the continued success of online education.
