University Library Hosts Dspace Training

The University Library department, under the leadership of Prof. Joseph Kavulya, successfully organized a training session focused on the D-Space digital repository software. The event brought together library staff from all campuses, ICT personnel, and knowledge ambassadors to discuss best practices for implementing and managing the university’s digital repository platform. The training aimed to strengthen the institution’s capacity to effectively preserve and provide access to digital academic resources.

Opening the session, Prof. Gilbert Nduru, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic, Research, and Student Affairs (ARSA), emphasized the importance of a well-managed digital repository in supporting academic excellence and knowledge sharing. Participants engaged in practical exercises, interactive discussions, and strategy formulation to ensure the repository becomes a valuable resource for the institution.
