Chuka University has officially commissioned three new pieces of equipment received from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as part of a KSh 100 million grant awarded in 2023.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Mutembei, while presiding over the commissioning, announced that the university had received a Fibretherm, an Olympus 6*43 Microscope with a CCP camera, and a water bath. These additions complement other equipment received last year under the same grant.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Mutembei also revealed that Chuka University had been designated as the national coordination center for Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) projects. This milestone is expected to enhance the university’s role in nuclear research and technology in Kenya.
