Web Champions Trained to Boost Webometrics Ranking

The Webometrics Committee, led by Mr. Joseph Murima, recently conducted a Web-Champions Training aimed at equipping representatives from various academic and administrative departments, as well as faculty, with the skills needed to enhance the university’s webometrics ranking.
The training focused on improving the institution’s online presence by educating web champions on key areas such as digital repositories, web development, data analysis, digital innovation, social media integration, digital marketing, and content management. Committee members facilitated discussions on how these elements contribute to improving the university’s overall ranking.
Webometrics, which involves the study of online content and hyperlink structures between websites, plays a crucial role in assessing a university’s global visibility and impact. By strengthening digital content, optimizing web design, and integrating social media strategies, the university aims to improve its standing in international rankings.
Participants gained insights into their roles in website management, content strategy, and digital engagement to ensure a stronger online footprint for the institution. This initiative aligns with the university’s broader goal of leveraging technology for academic and administrative excellence.
With continuous efforts from the Webometrics Committee and trained web champions, the university is set to make significant strides in digital transformation and web ranking improvements.
