Strengthening Agricultural Innovation Through the RE-GAIN Partnership

A delegation from the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and the Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC) engaged Chuka University in discussions to deepen collaboration under the RE-GAIN Project, focused on advancing agricultural development through research, innovation, and capacity building.
The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships between academia and development actors, including integrating academia into RE-GAIN community outreach, reviewing ongoing efforts, and exploring plans for 2026 and beyond.
The project, implemented by the Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC) in partnership with Africa Harvest and funded by AGRA, targets smallholder maize and bean farmers in Tharaka Nithi and Embu counties. It aims to improve food security, resilience, and incomes by reducing post-harvest losses and promoting access to food loss reduction technologies, with a strong focus on women and youth.
Chuka University reaffirmed its commitment to supporting agricultural transformation through research, innovation, and capacity building, positioning itself as a key partner in delivering sustainable solutions.
