Chuka University has once again demonstrated its growing stature in scientific research and higher education through its participation in the 9th African School of Fundamental Physics and Applications (ASP 2026), being held at the University of Nairobi from 6–17 July 2026.
A major highlight of the University’s participation is the appointment of Dr. William Ndeke, Head of the Physics Section in the Department of Physical Sciences, to serve as a member of the Organizing Committee and as a faculty member. During the two-week programme, he will deliver lectures on Particle Physics and Neutrino Physics, underscoring the University’s growing recognition in advanced physics research and education.
The University is also represented by three students, Raymond, Gabriel, and Miriam, who were competitively selected from approximately 120 participants drawn from universities and research institutions across Africa and beyond.
Hosted in Kenya for the first time, ASP 2026 brings together leading physicists, researchers, and students to advance research, innovation, and collaboration in fundamental physics. Chuka University’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening research capacity, expanding international partnerships, and nurturing globally competitive scientists.
