Chuka University Celebrates Sporting Triumphs with Joyous Homecoming Ceremony

On February 13, 2023, the Chuka University Main Campus Pavilion Grounds saw a jubilant Homecoming Ceremony for the Chuka University Scorpions and Starlets after their win at the Chapa Dimba Eastern Region Playoffs. The event, attended by students, faculty, and supporters, honoured not only the football teams but also recognized the achievements of all sports teams at the university. Amidst cheers and applause, athletes were lauded for their hard work and dedication, embodying values of sportsmanship and teamwork. 

 

During his speech, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei stated, “Today, we stand united in celebration of our athletes’ remarkable achievements on the field. Their dedication, resilience, and spirit of teamwork have not only brought glory to our university but have also inspired us all. As we honour the Scorpions and Starlets, let us also recognize the hard work and commitment of every athlete who represents Chuka University. Together, they embody the values of excellence and sportsmanship that define our institution. Let this Homecoming Ceremony be a testament to our collective strength and a reminder of what we can achieve when we work together towards a common goal. Congratulations to our teams, and may this victory inspire us to reach even greater heights in the future.”

The celebration seamlessly transitioned into a Valentine’s Eve after-party, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie among attendees. The event symbolized the vibrant spirit and community ethos of Chuka University, inspiring aspirations for continued excellence in both sports and academics.
