Chuka University is participating in a two-week Bioeconomy Startups and Industry Connection Learning Mission in Denmark and Germany, reaffirming its commitment to advancing innovation, research, and industry collaboration under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei.
The mission brings together Chuka University and partner institutions, including Egerton University, Pwani University, the Technical University of Denmark, the University of Hohenheim, NACOSTI, CUE, and Biodigesters Manufacturing Ltd., with the aim of strengthening Kenya’s bioeconomy ecosystem through research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Participants are engaging in site visits, expert-led lectures, and scientific networking sessions to gain insights into innovative bioeconomy models, industry partnerships, and startup incubation frameworks. The knowledge acquired is expected to enhance the University’s innovation ecosystem, strengthen university-industry linkages, and support the commercialization of research for sustainable development and economic growth.
The initiative, spearheaded by Prof. Joseph Masinde, the COD, Department of Management Science and Principal Investigator of the Chuka Bioeconomy Project, aligns with the Government’s agenda to promote innovation, value addition, food security, and sustainable industrial growth.
