Chuka University Holds Consultative Meeting with KENHA to Boost Pedestrian and Student Safety Around Ndagani

Chuka University Management held a consultative meeting with the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) Regional Office and the Chuka University Students Association (CUSA) on November 5, 2024, to address pedestrian and student safety along major roads near the university in Ndagani. Led by Eng. Francis Kimata (KENHA’s Engineer) and Dr. Peter Mabubi (Registrar A&P), the meeting focused on strategies such as additional pedestrian crossings, speed bumps, better lighting, and improved signage to reduce traffic risks. CUSA representatives voiced students’ concerns, advocating for infrastructure changes to prioritize safety. Both KENHA and the university agreed to conduct a detailed assessment to identify and implement effective safety measures for students and local residents.
