KISM Hails Chuka University’s Procurement Excellence

Chuka University hosted two officials from the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM): Dr. Edwin Paapai, Compliance Officer, and Ms. Myriam Moraa, Procurement Officer, who paid a courtesy visit to the institution. They were received by the University management, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance, Planning & Development), Prof. Jonah Kindiki. The purpose of the visit was to assess the University’s compliance with professional standards, certification requirements, staff development initiatives, and the annual renewal of professional memberships within the procurement function.
During the engagement, the KISM officials sensitized procurement staff on the processes involved in license renewal and new membership registration. They further encouraged staff members to pursue professional training through the Kenya Institute of Supplies Examination Board (KISEB), with the aim of attaining the Certified Procurement and Supplies Professional of Kenya (CPSP-K) certification.
Dr. Paapai and Ms. Moraa commended Chuka University for its outstanding contribution to the training and production of highly qualified graduands in Procurement and Logistics Management. They also applauded the University for maintaining an efficient and compliant procurement system, noting that no operational challenges had been reported.
Additionally, the officials welcomed the University to collaborate with KISM by sending students for industrial attachment, emphasizing the importance of practical exposure in building industry-ready professionals.
Moving forward, both institutions expressed interest in exploring deeper partnerships aimed at promoting professional excellence, knowledge sharing, and capacity building in the procurement and supply chain sector.
